The Colorado Climate Project was convened by the Rocky Mountain Climate Organization to bring Coloradans together to reduce the state’s contribution and vulnerability to climate change. In the first phase of the project, a blue-ribbon Climate Action Panel worked for a year to develop 70 recommendations for reducing emissions of heat-trapping greenhouse gases and preparing for the changes that may be coming. Altogether, 116 panel members, alternates, and participants in supporting Policy Work Groups worked to produce the panel’s final report. Click on the navigation buttons to the left to learn more about background information on the science and impacts of global climate change, what governments in Colorado and elsewhere are doing, and the Colorado Climate Project; the inventory and forecast of Colorado greenhouse gas emissions considered by the panel; the Climate Action Panel’s work and report; the Policy Work Groups that supported the panel; and other information. The Center for Climate Strategies provided facilitation and technical support to the Climate Action Panel and Policy Work Groups.
